The Benefit of Professional Organization Membership

The profession of interpreting requires that Interpreters continually develop their skills and knowledge.  Being a member f a professional organization can alleviate the cost of seminars and webinars alike.

The International Medical Interpreters Association is one organization that I pride myself in being a member of.  Aa a member you can build a profile for potential employers to view.  In addition, IMIA offers many seminars and webinars for interpreters to partake in.  Many of these free of charge to its members.

Maintaining a certification requires you to continually attain new skills and refresh the old.  So, if you are a professional interpreter and have not joined an organization, I urge you to join one of the many organizations like the IMIA.  The benefits surpass the cost of membership.  Furthermore, you'll never have to research trainings and seminars in order to keep your professional certification.

As part of our ongoing efforts to provide services to healthcare providers Northeast Consulting is now offering video remote interpreting services to our customers and other providers with a need to service their patients and comply with the national HHS standards regarding the provision of language services to all LEP patients.

If you currently don't provide language services free of charge to all of your LEP, ethnic minorities, this can result in a lawsuit, accidental death, or other injury to an LEP patient. We provide language services at a rate that is very competitive.  We will not be under sold.  Our video remote services start at $1.65 per min for spanish.  You will not find anyone offering this service at this rate.  Also, we use commonly used apps, no special investment in expensive equipment.
